A bit more about me :)
Nice to meet you, and thank you for visiting my site!

I am Angel, an independent freelance journalist based in London. Having grown up in Hong Kong, I moved to the UK in 2021 to pursue my undergraduate studies in history. As I completed my journalism master's at the City University of London in 2024, I am knowledgeable about both local British and Chinese news reportage. I write in both Chinese and English (and speak English, Mandarin, and Cantonese), with the specialist interest in writing human-interest stories about underrepresented communities in the UK; the intersectionality between politics, gender and identity; and East Asian cultures and politics.

In addition to news writing, I am experienced in social media journalism and digital marketing. I am now a marketing intern at ParkRun, social media editor at Empoword Journalism, and deputy social media editor at NüVoices, a global non-profit supporting gender minorities working on China subjects. I have also worked on journalism translation between Chinese and English.

I have written a wide range of stories, from local reporting, long-form interest, film reviews, food stories, and financial articles. Here are some stories I am particularly proud of:
